Photograhper Irina Khirsh (Lasurnaya) As it often happens, I had a dream about becoming a photographer for as long as I can remember. When I was a child, I used to help my dad in his darkroom and was mesmerized by images that would slowly appear on a seemingly empty sheet of photographic paper. Those memories kept coming back to me when years later I graduated from the International Academy of Photography in Moscow, Russia. The school not only taught us rules and principles of photography, but, more importantly, it helped us establish and firm up our vision. Since that time I have had a lot of fantastic opportunities to work in the United States and several European countries on variety of subjects using a number of photographic techniques. This extensive experience helped me find a closer connection with subjects of my work and taught me to search for a touch of harmony in each and every shot I take. Photography is more than art to me. Lights, camera and technique alone cannot create an image that would be worth talking about. It takes more than rules of composition and high-end equipment to paint a picture. What makes it so special is that just about every image I take carries a piece of my soul, my emotions are embedded in it, and almost always it has a touch of invisible, but perceptible magic... http://www.flickr.com/photos/aivisions/collections/72157617236041894/
